Hands on Harp ~ You can Play!

Hands on Harp ~ You can Play!

£12.00

Angharad Evans Young

For the last eighteen years, it has been my privilege to teach many beginner harpists, and it has been my joy and delight to be able to share my love of the harp to so many who would like to learn to play. I always stress that teaching and learning should not only be informative but fun. The dreaded words 'Theory', 'Technique', 'Sight-Reading' must not be allowed to be off-putting, when all one wants to do is to be able to put 'Hands on Harp' and to make music.

I hope my little book with its notes named Cool C, Dizzy D, Exciting E, Fantastic F, Gorgeous G, Amazing A and Busy B, and with its tunes with names like Wobbly Waltz, Groovy Giraffes, Dozing Donkeys, Crazy Crocodiles, Alligator Snap, Bopping Bugs and Dinosaur Disco will help to make your Hands on Harp experience a happy one. And what is more, you will find, as have so many of my pupils in the past, that you have conquered the 'problems' of Theory, Technique and Sight-Reading without even being aware that they were there!

The book can be used in both individual and group teaching, and towards the end I have included second (and in some cases, third and fourth) harp parts to pieces which are set in Grade examinations, and these can be used for playing together, giving the beginner harpist valuable ensemble experience. Patrick O'Neill's Manuscripts Volume 2

Patrick O'Neill's Manuscripts Volume 2

£15.00

Kathleen Loughnane
This recording presents Kathleen Loughnane's arrangements of a second selection of tunes contained in the manuscripts of Patrick O'Neill (1765-1832). These tunes give further insight into the eclectic range of music popular in his environs of south Tpperary and Kilkeny in the late 18th and early 19th century. The/ represent O'Neill's efforts to preserve what he could from the gradual erosion of an Irish way of being.

Travels with my harp V1

Travels with my harp V1

£15.00

arr Mary O'Hara
As in the other volumes, the accompaniments in this first volume of Travels With My Harp are suitable for piano and for pedal or lever harp but they were specifically written or adapted for the latter. Since making my first singing radio broadcast in Ireland at the age of sixteen, I accompanied myself on the Irish harp. Over the years my repertoire expanded to include songs from other parts of the world. This volume offers a sprinkling of my favourite songs - songs I have performed many times in concert, on radio and on television, recorded on LP, CD and DVD-video.
Please note we do not have the accompanying CD for this volume.

Originally written for lever harp & pedal harp duo, Lauren Scott has subsequently arranged this piece for harp quartet.
